Sound Healing Facilitators – 2026 Vancouver Island Yoga Retreat

Sound Healing

This year we are excited to offer two different Sound Healing options as part of the Vancouver Island Yoga Retreat!

Susan and Rick from Choosing to Thrive will lead our closing circle on Sunday evening. Susan and Rick offer monthly kirtan, by donation, at Vancouver Island Yoga School and other locations in the Cowichan Valley. For this year’s retreat they will carry on that tradition with each donation going to CWAV (Cowichan Women Against Violence). CWAV works from a feminist perspective to provide a supportive environment primarily to women and children who have been impacted by violence.

In addition, you’ll have the pleasure of experiencing a sound bath with Adeline Dubois of Adeline Wholistic Healing. She is an Energy and Sound-Healer, as well as a Gentle Touch Thai Massage Practitioner who offers reiki, sound, and group healing sessions across Southern Vancouver Island. You’ll have a chance to partake in her healing and transformative sounds at the end of the day on Saturday, allowing body and mind to absorb your experiences from the first day, and set your intentions.

These Sound Healing offerings will provide you with an opportunity to integrate the experiences of the day in body, heart, and mind and truly find your bliss at the end of each day.

Choosing to Thrive Kirtan

Based in Duncan, BC, kirtan leaders Susan Dix and Rick Fortier have been offering public kirtan practice in the community for over five years. Their love of kirtan began in Costa Rica in 2010, where they were deeply inspired by local kirtan leaders. Through mentorship and encouragement, they began playing harmonium and guitar in 2020 and stepped into leading kirtan themselves.

They share the heart-opening practice of devotional chanting through music, mantra, and community. Together they create a welcoming space for connection, reflection, and inner growth.

Their monthly kirtan gatherings are held at the Vancouver Island Yoga School in Duncan, offering an opportunity for participants of all backgrounds to experience the joy and transformative power of collective chanting.

Adeline Dubois

Sound Bath

Adeline is a Sound and Energy Healer and Thai Massage Practitioner, also trained in Kundalini Dance.

Her work weaves together sound, energy, and intuitive movement to support a return to the body — where the nervous system can settle, the breath can deepen, and a more honest connection to self can emerge.

Through crystal and Tibetan bowls, gong, drum, and voice, she creates spaces of deep listening and presence, where what is ready to release, shift, or integrate can unfold naturally.

Alongside her sound work, Adeline also facilitates movement journeys inspired by Kundalini Dance teachings, inviting a gentle exploration of the body’s energy through intuitive, free-form expression.

Her approach is grounded, intuitive, and deeply connected to the Earth, offering spaces that are both supportive and quietly transformative.
